How To Build a Computer Part 3. (The Personal Computer)

In today’s guide, I will be doing my best to pass on my knowledge of purchasing components for your first personal Computer! The price range that I’ll be aiming around today will be $600! We will be using the PcPartPicker.com website as a guideline in order to make sure that we remain within our chosen budget of $600.

For this build we won’t be needing a graphics card, but a CPU that is suitable for use as both a CPU and a GPU also known as an APU or accelerated processing unit. These are mainly sold and manufactured by AMD. I’ve decided to go with the Ryzen 5 5600G APU, as it’s an APU it can be used both as a CPU and GPU. It comes in at the price of $109 on Amazon! For the motherboard I went with the ASRock B550M Pro4 Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard, this motherboard has everything required as well as being compatible with out APU at the same price of $109! For our RAM I’ve found two sticks of 8GB DDR4, 3600, Vulcan Z ram to be more than enough the price of these totalling at under $50. For storage, I found the Silicon P34A60 512GB SSD to be perfect, with plenty of storage and at an exclusive price of $30. Finally for our power supply unit the Cooler Master 550w ATX is a perfect fit, coming in at $50! This brings our total to $348! However, you may have noticed, that I’ve left out a PC case, as I’d like you to personally pick one out as the case comes down to preference only.

This build has left us almost a whole $250 to spare and with this remainder, you can pick out a monitor, keyboard, headset, or computer mouse!
