Software Review
Software Review
The two main
piece of software that I used for this project were blogger.com and PCPartPicker.com.
Both of these proved incredibly useful in terms of putting everything together
and having an idea of what is required and what looks good.
Blogger is the website itself, which I used to create and publish my blogs. I found the website to be super simple and straight forward in terms of user experience, creating and uploading work. The main factor that made me chose blogger over other software was its availability and simplicity. Signup only took seconds and figuring out how to post/upload minutes. The friendly user interface alongside its super responsive servers and functionality made it the perfect and only choice for me.
I found is very easy to edit out and
update mistakes made on pervious posts such as when I accidentally wrongly
numbered one of my posts. There was zero delay in between me pressing edit and
update. Blogger made blogging seamless, enjoyable, and very pleasant. However,
the one complaint I have regarding blogger is it’s style, in my opinion is
outdated and retro. But depending on what you’re looking for this could either
be a plus or a minus.
The second piece of software I used to aid me with my blog was PcPartPicker, this is a software that allows you to choose computer components, customize your computer build fully and displays prices of each component from various difference PC components sellers. PcPartPicker also gave me a reasonable insight on what computer parts are popular, compatible, and accessible. Their software provides a unique user experience where you have the opportunity to review other peoples builds and see why they chose them. This proved to be incredibly useful for deciding what components are good for budget builds and what components are good for overall performance.
PCPartPicker gives you full control
over your build, they even display the estimated power usage in order to help
you decide what Power Supply Unit would suite you best! My by far favourite
feature of PCPartPicker is their sheer database of every and any possible
component that could come to mind. They give you the ability to pick whether
you want a regular fan cooler or even water cooler, as well as displaying all
the PC cases which are compatible or come with said cooling devices. The only
con that I experienced on PCPartPicker was the lack of buying options on sold
out or unavailable components. Overall, I’ve found myself even using
PCPartPicker for personal use when I was in the market for a new CPU.
PCPartPicker is by far the flagship software for building any desktop device
you could imagine. I will most definitely be coming back to PCPartPicker in
future ventures for new PC components!
